Round up of Digital Manufacturing Week 2019
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending Digital Manufacturing Week in Liverpool as The Manufacturer magazine’s Official Talent Partner.
It’s safe to say the event did not disappoint as we spent two full days learning and growing as a business and utilising our own knowledge to enhance others.
Digital Manufacturing Week: The Event
We arrived in Liverpool on Wednesday morning for a busy day exhibiting at the Smart Factory Expo, surrounded by some of the most inspirational and successful names in the manufacturing industry. Dan, our Head of Customer Success spent the day in the Manufacturing Leaders’ Summit, engaging in roundtable discussions, surrounding all things Talent Acquisition with a variety of keynote speeches from the likes of Henrik von Scheel (Industry 4.0 originator) and Matt Cadieux (CIO of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing).
On Wednesday night, we were fortunate enough to attend The Manufacturer Top 100 launch event, as sponsors. This year’s finalists represent some of the most inspiring and innovative individuals who are helping to drive the manufacturing industry forwards. It was a privilege to be involved in celebrating the success of the industry and to hear so many unique and uplifting stories, helping to change common misconceptions of careers within manufacturing.
Our second and final day commenced in the Smart Factory Expo. Throughout the day we were given the opportunity to converse with multiple manufacturers and manufacturing businesses nationally and internationally, acquiring knowledge and gaining insights into digital manufacturing and what’s to come.
On Thursday, Alex, our Service Development Manager was also discussing all things Talent Acquisition within the People and Skills Summit. As the day went on, Alex and Dan were motivated by keynote speeches given by various different leaders and through round table discussions, used their knowledge to inspire and enable other people and businesses to grow.
To mark the end of Digital Manufacturing Week, we attended The Manufacturer MX Awards ceremony. Attended by more than 700 industry leaders, and in the company of Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Alistair McGowan, these awards illustrate and honour a true cross-section of industry excellence, rigorously assessed across 11 categories.
We were given the fantastic opportunity to sponsor and present the award for Achieving Customer Value, which was won by Protolabs.
At such a challenging time for UK industry, it was fantastic to recognise so many outstanding organisations who are the true elite of UK manufacturing. Each and every one of the nominees and winners should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments . Click here to view a full list of the winners.
